Gaining Access

The ABAIR server hosts several virtual machines (VMs) and containers. Each VM contains the functionality for a specific task, e.g. synthesis, recognition, web server. Access to individual VMs is restricted to those directly involved in that section of the project.

To connect to a VM, you will need:

  1. Pre-approved Access :: You can only gain access to VMs you have reason, and permission, to access. Email one of the admin accounts listed in Users to make a request.

  2. An SSH Public/Private Key-pair in ed25519 format. :: less secure algorithms such as id_rsa are no longer appropriate. See here for how to generate a key-pair. You should email your public key to the admin who approved your access.

  3. An SSH Client :: If you are on MacOS or Linux, feel free to use the provided ssh command. For a list of SSH clients, see [[A. Good SSH Clients]]

Coming soon:

  1. A TOTP Device :: You will need a device which permits you to use TOTP such as an Android or iOS device with Authy, Google Authenticator or equivalent application installed.
